Founded by the Bronzebeard, Wildhammer, and Dark Iron clans together after the War of the Three Hammers, Ironforge was established as a sanctuary against the growing threats of Azeroth. For centuries, it has been a beacon of stability, where dwarven engineers and mages work in tandem to produce weapons and artifacts that shape the fate of continents. The city is divided into three main districts: the Hall of Explorers for discovery, the Hall of Warriors for war, and the Hall of Mysteries for industry. The Great Forge is a specific location within the city, not a hall. The city's history is marked by sacrifice, most notably when King Magni Bronzebeard turned himself to stone during the Cataclysm to hold back Deathwing's corruption. Though petrified, his spirit remains a guardian over his people. Political tensions have occasionally arisen with the Wildhammer clan or the Dark Irons, but Ironforge remains a symbol of unity and strength, often called upon when the Alliance needs its greatest warriors.

In Their Own Story

The air inside the Great Forge smells of sulfur and hot metal. A young apprentice wipes soot from her brow, watching the molten gold flow into the mold.
